Studio Teacher (Part-Time)

We are looking for a Studio Teacher(s) to help facilitate our summer camps (afternoon sessions approximately 12-3pm), with potential for continuing into the school year. Our Studio Teachers are super imaginative, love kids (and dogs!) and readily jump in to create magical art making experiences for kids. Teachers must have experience working with children in a nurturing/creative/process-based environment, a background in art and the ability to lead, plan, create and teach classes that ignite curiosity and creative thinking. Teachers must be able to take initiative, be flexible, create exciting projects while being spontaneous. Teachers must love good, messy, art making fun!

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Art, Education or a related field

  • Experience working with children ages 4-11

  • Knowledge of process-based art and/or passion for learning about kids creative process

  • Strong communication skills with children and adults

  • Fun and engaging with kids

  • Must be available in the afternoons

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and set up studio projects

  • Present projects

  • Talk, play and inspire creativity with each child

  • Refill Supplies

  • Document through a few photos

  • Reflect on what did/didn’t work with each class

  • Brainstorm ideas/projects for the studio

Studio Assistant (Part-Time Internship)

We love to involve our community in the workings of the studio and provide opportunities for young people to get experience working in a creative environment with children. We are looking for a Studio Assistant(s) who love art, kids and dogs and can take initiative to support children in developing their creativity during our summer camps (with potential for continuing into the school year). This goal of the internship is to provide professional experience working with children in a studio environment and is unpaid. Studio Assistants will have the opportunity to utilize the studio for their own art during agreed upon hours.

Qualifications:

  • This intern position is open to ages 13+

  • Passion for learning about kids creative process

  • Fun and engaging with kids

  • Love for creating

Responsibilities:

  • Talk, play and inspire creativity with each child

  • Clean supplies after each workshop

  • Refill Supplies
